      PERU – The Iowa Interstate Railroad will be conducting maintenance at the railroad tracks near Putnam Street in Peru on Tuesday. The road will be closed from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. while work is being performed.

OTTAWA – A culvert on East 1509th Road in Ottawa Township will be closed for replacement beginning Wednesday. The project is a a quarter of a mile north of U.S Route 6. Work is expected to last a week. Motorists are advised to use alternatives routes around the construction site.

MENDOTA – New signs have been installed on the outskirts of Mendota to welcome visitors to town ahead of the 2019 Mendota Sweet Corn Festival.   They were purchased in part with proceeds from the Mendota Chamber of Commerce’s yearly 50/50 jackpot which takes place at the festival.
