IVCH Midwives Discuss Birth Control and other Topics July 26

July 26, 2018 @ 4:00 am - 6:30 pm

Although midwives are best known for delivering babies, they are also qualified to provide other healthcare services throughout a woman’s life.

The role midwives can play in providing health care to women apart from assisting them with childbirth will be highlighted when four Illinois Valley Community Hospital certified nurse midwives present a free public program from 4 – 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26, in the IVCH room at Peru Mall.

The event—entitled “Midwives: Women Caring for Women”—will include talks about birth control at 4:30 p.m., prenatal care and delivery at 5:00 p.m., postpartum care at 5:30 p.m. and menopause and perimenopause at 6:00 p.m.

Appetizers and desserts will be served.  Attendees can attend the sessions they are most interested in without having to stay for all of them.

To pre-register for the program, go to ivch.org or call 815-780-4642.

Midwives who work at the Women’s Health Care Center at IVCH are Dana Hoffman, CNM; Barb Tieman, CNM; Brittany Lange, CNM; and Jacqueline Ma, CNM.
