Friends of the Library Fundraiser

The Friends of the Library are running a raffle basket fundraiser through the month of June. Stop by the library to look at the baskets (or look at them as they are posted on our facebook page). Tickets are available at the library, 1 for $1 or 6 for $5.

Friends of the Library Book Sale
Sat., June 16, 2018, 9 AM – 1 PM
The Friends of the Library are holding a book sale at the library during Oglesby’s Summer Fun Fest. Want to donate books for the sale? Bring them to the library anytime! Want to help set up for the sale? Come to the library an hour before the sale to shift tables and carry boxes of books! Want to help clean up after the sale? Teardown time is from 1 – 2:30 PM, but with more hands, it should go faster! Volunteers may set books aside for when the sale opens.

Preschool Summer Reading
Starts Wed., June 13, 10 – 10:45 AM
Weekly on Wednesdays until July 18, not July 4
Start your preschool child’s morning with songs and stories, do a craft together and have a snack. Oglesby Library promotes 1000 Books Before Kindergarten to help develop a lifelong love of books and reading and increase your child’s vocabulary.

Summer Reading
Starts Thurs., June 14, 2018, 3 – 4 PM
Weekly on Thursdays until July 19
Why not spend some at your library this summer? This year’s theme is “Reading Takes You Everywhere.” All children K to 5th grade are welcome to join us for story reading, crafts, music, and snacks! You’ll keep track of minutes read. Some weeks will have guest presenters and activities.

Tree ID Walk – during Summer Reading
Thursday, June 21, 2018, 3 – 4 PM

This week during Summer Reading we will learn about invasive insects and have a special Tree Identification Walk (weather permitting) with guest presenter Tricia from The Morton Arboretum.
