OGLESBY SEEKS PUBLIC COMMENTS ON SENICA SQUARE PROJECT

Oglesby residents are invited to view the newest concept plan and offer comments on the proposed development of Senica Square on Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 1 to 3 p.m., at City Hall. City staff will be on hand to answer questions about the project and gather comments from the public. The project will feature a permanent band shell, restrooms, a water feature and an ice skating rink, as well as native trees and plants and a paved surface for accessibility. …

Celebrating its 6th year, Wiggles and Giggles is held Thursday mornings from 10:00am-10:30am beginning September 13. Through music, movement, scarves, flannel boards, stories, and more, children experience fun developmentally appropriate activities. Sensory and dramatic play stations along with art activities are offered following the program. Siblings are welcome to attend and families can socialize while children play after each class. Register by calling 815-223-0229 ext. 5.

28th Annual Streator Rotary Club Coat and Blanket Drive for the Salvation Army

The 2018 Streator Rotary Club annual coat and blanket drive will kick-off on Friday, September 21st with donation boxes being distributed to the YMCA, Kroger, Streator Onized Credit Union, Midland Bank, and Central Church of Christ. The main drop-off and donation area is directly at The Salvation Army located at 126 S. Bloomington St. Streator. For the tenth consecutive year, the Reddick Mansion Association invites students from Ottawa Township High School and Marquette Academy to visit the Mansion and its beautiful gardens and grounds for Homecoming Dance photos. First 5K Run/Walk through Dayton Bluffs Preserve in Ottawa

The first 5K Run/Walk at Dayton Bluffs Preserve in Ottawa on Saturday, September 29 from 8 to 11 a.m. will take participants through the prairies and woodlands of this pristine preserve located on the Fox River.   The Run/Walk is limited to 150 registrants, who each will receive a race t-shirt, water, and a medal of participation. LaSalle County Health Department’s Flu Clinics

The LaSalle County Health Department is urging everyone 6 months and older to get vaccinated against seasonal influenza (flu).  The LaSalle County Health Department has received its shipment of flu vaccine and will begin hosting flu clinics at the Health Department beginning on Saturday, September 29th.  Seasonal Influenza Vaccine and Influenza HD (High Dose) Vaccine for persons 65 and older will be available. Marseilles Housing Rehabilitation Surveys Needed

The City of Marseilles is working with North Central Illinois Council of Governments (NCICG) to apply for a housing rehabilitation grant that is due this fall.  Housing Rehabilitation surveys were mailed out to residents in the project area on August 15, 2018.
