ALABAMA – A thief fled from police after stealing items to sell so he could pay for his girlfriends car that had been impounded by police earlier in the day. He fled to the Coosa River on a kayak. Unfortunately his kayak capsized and he had to swim to shore, where officers were waiting on the bank. After tackling him he was arrested and charged with burglary, theft of property, attempt to elude, and resisting arrest.
