KEY WEST, FL — A Florida man was hired to remove 30 mattresses and bedsprings and then swap them out with new ones at a local hotel. Instead of taking the old mattresses for disposal he dumped them on the side of the road in hopes of helping people who needed a new to them mattress. He told authorities that he planned to come back the next day and pick them up, however the police department had worked with the Monroe County Solid Waste Management to have them disposed of properly. The man is facing charges of illegal dumping.
