SPRING VALLEY – Spring Valley’s public works department is considering grants to help with sewer replacements. Alderman Janusick gave a water and sewer report to the city council on Monday expressing the need for new sewer replacement and sewer linings per Street Superintendent Jeff Norton’s recommendation. Janusick says the committee is looking into a Community Development Block Grant to help finance the expenses. The city also approved the purchase of an automatic chlorinator for its water treatment facility. A chlorinator is used to pretreat residents water by killing bacteria, eliminating odors and other toxins.
